What does it mean?

We instilled a different meaning to the adjective zlurad (evil-intentioned, which we promise we’re not) by means of a pun – and created a noun that best describes our business. We saw Shakespeare do it and thought – well, isn’t that a neat idea!

Who are we?

We’re a non-conventional SEO agency for SaaS startups (but we may accommodate you even if you’re not in the software industry, talk to us!).

What started as a few freelancers joining forces on a couple of comprehensive projects turned into a big group of freelancers working as a non-formal team. You know, we were casual. A need to make a shift in the way SEO services are offered and performed nudged us to make it official. Hence, Zlurad.

Who are we illustration

We wonder.

Banner blindness: the proven defense mechanism of consumers. So what do we encourage when we apply the same best practices in content and SEO to each business? Are buzzwords the banner noise? What’s so unique about the approach everyone takes? Can we truly disrupt it every time we take on a project?

We wander.

So we play. We deconstruct the guidelines. We come up with ludicrous ideas – often, we let them go. We chase the unseen angle. We question the rules. We don’t ignore data — and we treat the hard work of SEO pioneers with gratitude and, crucially, curiosity. We ain’t here to break it, just see how far it will bend.

We risk it.

Google tends to love it – and so do our clients. Take more time to create true value in the pile of content, content, content just for the sake of “following the best practices”. We grew up on the internet – and with the internet – we’ve basically been guinea pigs for each new app, feature, trend, and obsession.

Being online does not equal being a digital marketing expert; but it made us understand early on that consumers aren’t a third party group we market to — we are the consumers. (And we don’t necessarily like it.)

What are we trying to do? (a.k.a. vision)

You can’t pack good SEO into a traditional, one-size-fits-all agency retainer. We tried. You probably tried, too, and spent a tens (best case scenario) of thousands of dollars just to learn it doesn’t deliver.

We thought it’s time we turn it upside down: find a way to customize SEO for each client without breaking into chaos. Evil work at work.

What drives us? (a.k.a. mission)

Not Teslas, that’s for sure.

Zlurad is about chasing the ideas that make our work fun, stimulating, and substantial.

However, what turned our informal collabs into a company was the desire to create a healthy, safe workplace that puts humanity over profit and allows teammates to fit their job into their life (and not vice versa!) and earn a fair wage. (Evil work?)

We believe this to be the prerequisite for getting to do that fun and innovative work we mentioned at the beginning. We also believe this is the only fair way for employers to treat employees.

What drives us illustration

Last but not least, there’s one more thing you should know about us:

We are NOT a family.*

And we don’t rely on that narrative to guilt our teammates into burnout and smudge the boundaries of acceptable professional conduct.
